AG Mathematics with Applications to Biology and Medicine

Our group is concerned with mathematical modeling of biological and medical problems, e.g.

  • multiscale models for migration of cancer cells through tissue networks
  • chemotactic cell dispersal
  • assessment of radiation therapies for cancer patients
  • programmed cell death (TNF-induced apoptosis signaling pathways)
  • pattern formation

along with analysis and numerics of ordinary, partial (parabolic PDEs, kinetic equations, integro-differential equations) and stochastic differential equations.

The Biomathematics group is part of the Felix Klein Center for Mathematics and is affiliated to the research focus Industrial Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics.
