Curriculum Vitae

Gabriele Steidl received her PhD and Habilitation in Mathematics from the University of Rostock (Germany), in 1988 and 1991, respectively. She was a Postdoc at the University of Debrecen (Hungary, one semester) and at the University of Zürich (Switzerland, one semester).


From 1992 to 1993 she worked as a consultant at the Verband Deutscher Rentenversicherungsträger
in Frankfurt am Main.
From 1993 to 1996, she held a position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics
at the University of Darmstadt (Germany).
From 1996 to 2010, she was Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science,
University of Mannheim (Germany).

Since 2011, she is Professor at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern
(Germany) and Consultant of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics.

She was a Visiting Professor at the ENS Cachan and the University Paris Est (France).
She is a member of the Editorial board of of Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision, SIAM Journal of Imaging Sciences, Inverse Problems and Imaging, Acta Applicandae Mathematicae, International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, Transactions in Mathematics and its Applications.
