ERASMUS and Exchange Students

Studying at a partner university of the Mathematics Department, students not seeking a degree can apply for admission to a study visit at the University of Kaiserslautern for up to one academic year.

The academic year is divided into two semesters:

  • Winter Semester (1st October to 31st March)
  • Summer Semester (1st April to 31st September)

During the winter semester, the majority of the lectures are given from mid-October to mid-February, during the summer semester likewise from mid-April to mid-July. Exams are scheduled in the semester break. Usually, all exams are oral exams.

All lectures of the Masters programmes in Mathematics are given in English. A detailed description of all regularly and irregularly offered courses is presented in the modules handbook. An overview of ongoing or past lectures is written down here (go to the left side to choose the semester you need, then klick on the menu items "Mathematik" and "Hauptstudium" to see the course list).
Please take lectures of former semesters as an orientation for future semester courses. The point in time when courses for coming semesters are fixed is normally late, however some lectures are given every year.
The final selection of courses will take place after the arrival of the exchange student in Germany.

The language spoken in the courses of our Bachelor programme is German.
You can find the modules handbook here: modules handbook (in German).

Interested students are supposed to contact the ERASMUS coordinator of the department Dr. Falk Triebsch. Detailed information about the application process for ERASMUS students can be found here.
