Master Programmes
The department offers four different 2 years Master programmes in mathematics:
- Mathematics International
- Economathematics
- Mathematics
- Technomathematics
The main differences between the four programmes are the possible and required minor (nonmathematical) subjects. Mathematics International is especially designed for international students with a pure mathematical Bachelor degree without a minor subject and for German students, who will at least spend one semester of their Masters studies at a partner university abroad.
Already with their application, students choose a study specialization from
- Algebra, Geometry and Computer Algebra
- Applicable Analysis and Geomathematics
- Financial Mathematics and Statistics
- Industrial Mathematics: Modelling and Scientific Computing
- Optimization
All Students have to collect 120-132 credit points, whereof 6 credits belong to two seminars and 30 to the Master thesis, which is written during the last semester. Depending on the study programme, the remaining credit points must be earned from lectures of the following categories:
