Algebraic Aspects of

Mirror Symmetry

Workshop

June 25 - 29, 2001

Universität Kaiserslautern

Lectures will include

S. Barannikov:
Semi-infinite variations of Hodge structures, quantum periods and mirror symmetry formulas
A. Givental:
     Gromov-Witten theory in higher genus
D. Huybrechts / M. Lehn / M. Rosellen:
Moduli spaces of toroidal conformal field theories and T-duality

Schedule

The first lecture will start on Monday, June 25 at 9:00 am in lecture hall 48/210.
A description how to find lecture hall 48/210 is available here.
A more detailed program is available here as HTML and as postscript.
The last lecture will be finished at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 29.

Aim and scope

The workshop intends to introduce PhD students and young postdocs to some of the recent developments related to mirror symmetry. But everyone is welcome who wants to learn more about this exciting and highly dynamic field of current research or who can contribute to the success of this week in some way.

The morning program consists of a series of lectures systematically introducing the audience to some of the mathematical aspects of mirror symmetry. The main emphasis will be put on the algebraic and formal part of the story.

In the afternoon, discussions with the experts about the morning lectures and further talks about recent results related to mirror symmetry will be possible.

Financial Support

For members of the DFG-Schwerpunkt "Globale Methoden in der Komplexen Geometrie" travel expenses can be covered. Please send related questions to Bernd Kreußler (kreusler@mathematik.uni-kl.de).
