Image Analysis Group

General Information

Mathematical Image Processing and Data Analysis requires broad mathematical knowledge.

For a specialization in Mathematical Image Processing and Data Analysis we recommend the following courses:

Bachelor

  • Fachpraktikum

Additional recommendations (some of these courses can also be attended as Master course):

  • Convex Analysis (with Applications in Image Processing)
  • Nonlinear Optimization
  • Functional Analysis
  • Regression and Time Series Analysis
  • Stochastische Methoden
  • Maß- und Integrationstheorie
  • Probability Theory
  • Numerics of ODEs

In this way students are well prepared for a Bachelor thesis in Mathematical Image Processing and Data Analysis with focus on theory and/or applications and for a subsequent Master program.

Master

  • Seminar: Image Processing
  • Convex Analysis (with Applications in Image Processing)
  • Wavelets
  • Statistical Pattern Recognition
  • Probabilistic Graphical Models
