ISOLDE XVI: International Meeting on Locational Planning successfully concluded

From 25 June to 30 June 2023, the 16th edition of the renowned international conference ISOLDE (International Symposium on Locational Decisions) took place in Kaiserslautern and Baden-Baden. Within the framework of this interdisciplinary conference, researchers from various disciplines (mathematics, operations research, economics, engineering and geography) meet to exchange information on current issues and results in the field of locational analysis.

The conference has been organised by the Optimisation Group in cooperation with the Fraunhofer ITWM. The main organiser has been Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel.

Among the 78 speakers from 18 countries were also the two current winners of the LALA ("Life Time Achievement in Locational Analysis") award. This award is presented every three years by the Section on Locational Analysis, part of the international organisation for Operations Research and Analytics INFORMS - this year to Prof. Dr. Elena Fernandez (University of Barcelona) and Prof. Dr. Horst W. Hamacher (Kaiserslautern).

The next edition of the meeting (ISOLDE XVII) will be held in Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI, USA from 15 to 19 June 2026.
